The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) was looking to update their branding. The original branding (at the bottom of the first image) was segmented and outdated. The organization had three branches, each with its own logo.

The goals of the rebrand was to simplify the branding, visually connect all three branches, modernize the look, and capitalize on the brand recognition of the oldest branch of EdTA, the International Thespian Society.

An in-depth brand guide was created with an extended color palette, font treatment samples, rules of use for all EdTA related logos and wordmarks. This guide will be used by the home office as well as all chapters.

All print collateral of the home office was then redesigned to give a cohesive look.

To round out the rebrand, the website, email templates, and other digital platforms were given a simplified yet engaging new look.

In 2020, in response to Covid-19, the International Thespian Festival pivoted from an in-person summer event for theatre students and teachers to a virtual platform.

Companion annual reports for Educational Theatre Association and Educational Theatre Foundation. At the time, the Educational Theatre Association EdTA) and its fundraising branch, the Educational Theatre Foundation (ETF), were considered separate organizations. For this reason, two annual reports were created, one for each.

In 2019, the overall theme for both reports was “Purpose, Promise, Progress.” Each report compliments the other through design and content.

In 2020, in response to Covid-19, the Educational Theatre Association National Conference pivoted from an in-person learning event for theatre educators to a virtual platform.

Design work included overall event design, website, email, social media, motion graphic videos, promo graphics, and assets for virtual attendees to use.

Dramatics logo update and campaign design for newly launched companion online publication, Dramatics.org.

Cincinati Music Theatre wanted a cohesive look for their 2019-2020 season marketing. To achieve this, a logo was designed for each show using the same font and similar graphic approach.

Educational Theatre Association & Educational Theatre Foundation annual reports

Instead of mailing the standard, annual postcard about the value of membership, a series of postcards were conceived in 2018. Each postcard was themed around a popular musical, something teacher members would be familiar with. The fronts were designed to be eye-catching as well as collectible while the backs included themed benefits of membership. This redesign garnered a 31% increase of membership reinstatements.
